July in America brings a very fun holiday- the 4th of July! We all enjoy watching the fireworks displays that are held across the country and also shooting off a few in our own backyards where it's allowed. I would just like to take a moment and remind everyone about the members of our family who can't tell you they aren't fond of fireworks too much- our dogs & cats. Please, if you do shoot them off in your own backyard it's a good idea to keep the pets inside because the loud noises can scare them since they do have wonderful hearing and what's loud to us is 5 times as loud to them; plus I know no one wants to see their pets injured and it only takes a few seconds to do that. I invite everyone who celebrates the 4th of July to have a wonderful time, enjoy the great food and drinks but please be safe.
I would like to remind everyone about a NEW blog I began a couple of months back. I've never been much for blogs for my own use because quite frankly, I'm not very good at talking about myself but I thought I'd open one where I can post a bit of new information, as well as place my new articles that I've written & to give all of you who have come to enjoy and love my work a place to post comments & participate in a few fun polls. I even included a few of my favorite music videos so you'll get to see a little different side of the Birdman. Do take a look and bookmark it as a favorite to return periodically and see what new articles, items and even interactive polls I've added to my new blog!
I'd also like to tell you about a NEW article I wrote this past month I call "Stop It!". If you've ever dealt with creative block you're going to want to read this article & come back to it whenever these blocks arise. I'd also like to remind you of a couple of articles I've written in case you haven't had a chance to check them out; one of which I've posted here at my website as well as at my new blog & the 2nd article is exclusively at my blog. Both deal with issues that I'm quite passionate about- one being wildlife & the other giving fellow artists a few suggestions for when they get down or perhaps frustrated with their work. I hope you'll enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.

I've had a real flash of inspiration for my Egyptian art & culture lovers; this includes several HOT NEW DESIGNS as well as an ALL NEW Sekhmet Painting & ALL NEW Thoth Painting!
This month I'm unveiling an all NEW COLLECTION of Egyptian designs that will feature the god Anubis, Horus, Sekhmet, Set & Thoth! Each one will feature the god or goddess in the center of a wonderful circle of vibrant Ankhs.
The first in my series is called "Anubis Encircled" and features the head of this important god of embalming as well as the god who guided you through the afterlife. This design features the god with a gold & brown headdress with blue trim and he's in front of a terrific papyrus sheet covered in hieroglyphics all centered inside of a fantastic blue Ankh circle! Anubis Encircled will make a fantastic gift for yourself, someone you love and of course for your back-to-school shopping list.

This beautiful design features the head of Thoth amidst a great circle of blue Ankhs & appropriately enough in the background is a sheet of papyrus with hieroglyphics on it. Now to unveil the BRAND NEW Thoth Painting that I'm really excited about! The Ibis was one of the animals sacred to the god Thoth- the god of writing & the moon and here I have painted the god holding a papyrus roll in one hand and a writing instrument in the other and surrounded by the Sacred Ibis. In the background is a temple dedicated to this important deity complete with carved hieroglyphs and images of the Ibis as well as having 3 fully carved Obelisks complete with a golden point on each one. This painting not only captures the importance of Thoth but also gives a glimpse into the beauty of ancient Egypt and their wonderful belief system. I have a BRAND NEW CELTIC DESIGN to unveil this month as well as 2 ALL NEW PAINTINGS! I think anyone who loves Celtic art or who digs the style of art will want to have this hot NEW design in their wardrobe as well as their home decor!
The NEW DESIGN features a wonderful triple set of Tribal-like crows; between each 2 crows is a beautiful blue flame and knotted in the center are several flame swirls that almost look like they're emerging from the crows' tails with several smaller knots in the center of them and finally for the border I created another wonderful Celtic knot! My 2nd ALL NEW PAINTING will really be a hit with many of you who love history and historical landmarks because I took the tremendous job & endeavor of painting Stonehenge! That's right the beautiful and awe-inspiring sets of stones that are in England. A friend of mine gave me the idea to do such a painting and I took a new twist to it and created what I thought Stonehenge may have looked like nearer to its original completion. Stonehenge has been an endless source of fascination for countless generations of people ever since it was first built all the way to today and I firmly believe if it's still around a thousand years from now people will still be wondering exactly what its purpose was, who built it and all the age-old questions that we're still trying to get the answers to ourselves. This beautiful painting is available as an 8 x 10 inch print but you're also welcome to contact me and let me know what size you want done and it'll be worked out. This month I've created another Brand NEW dragon design! This one I took in a different direction; as well as loving the European idea of a dragon I also have always loved the Asian type of dragon and this next design reflects that. It features a cool white & red dragon with a beautiful almost mystical blue clouded background with an image of a genuine Asian home- all surrounded by a cool red & white tribal tattoo type of design! This one entitled appropriately enough "Chinese Dragon" will look fantastic on you as well as your kids when they head back to school. Get the cool matching mouse pad and cap for them to enjoy at their work station and when they're outside playing and why not get a cool Chinese Dragon coffee mug for yourself to enjoy your favorite coffee, tea or what have you.

The first of the NEW designs features a cool green dragon sitting in front of the word "Mysterious" and doesn't that sum up dragons pretty well? These are one of the most mysterious animals in all of mythology and stories abound in how they came to be, what their powers are and if they're good or bad. On each side of the word "Mysterious" is a fantastic flying dragon interwoven into the wording. As I've said, it'd make a fantastic gift for any dragon lover young or not so young.

This month I'm featuring a BRAND NEW PAINTING that I'm really wild about and I know you will be too! This painting I titled "A Day at the Lake" & you'll see why in a moment. I wanted to capture a scene at our local lake that I've seen several times in the winter months when I'm out there birdwatching and in Kansas the only time you'll find pelicans are in the winter months. They're a fantastic species to watch and observe because for one they almost always are in quite large flocks so you get to witness how they interact with each other, how they feed,etc & it's really a magnficient sight to see. Naturally in the winter months the trees around here are almost all bare but I decided to add just a small touch of artistic license and give the painting a spring look with the trees all lush and green & with the pelicans among several Mallard duck pairs to give it a real busy feel but not too busy; just enough to give the painting character. You'll also find that when you look at it for a while you can almost hear the ducks quacking and the pelicans swimming in the pristine lake. You can get this beautiful painting as an 8 x 10 inch print so why not get one for yourself & one for another bird lover to hang in their home! For all of my penguin loving friends out there you're going to be extremely psyched with this BRAND NEW painting! I haven't painted chinstrap penguins before but they're such a beautiful bird I had to give it a go & you're going to love what I painted! These beautiful chinstrap penguins are named this because of the black feathers that are right below their "chins" and it makes it look like a real strap that is attaching a black helmet to their heads. Here I have painted several adult penguins having an outing with two of their chicks; as with humans, one of the babies is bothering a penguin adult when he's trying to sleep; sound familiar? hehe. This painting once again is availabe as an 8 x 10 inch print or if you want something larger, just contact me and we'll get it done for you; you will also want to get the matching mouse pad or pillow- Either one makes a great gift for the college student moving into their own place or for your younger child who loves penguins.
I think you'll agree that butterflies come in such a wide variety of colors and shapes they could truly be considered nature's gems & this was my inspiration for my latest Butterfly Design featuring 5 beautiful white butterflies; each with their own vibrant wing colors spread around a terrific red & blue background! This month I'm very happy to unveil not 1 but 2 NEW iron cross designs! Each features vibrant bold colors & gives a fun yet slightly old world look to the designs.
The First of the 2 designs I call "Fired Cross" & it is available in many sizes and colors and styles sure to please anyone as well as some wonderful gift items such as a mouse pad and even a cool looking cap. This cool looking Iron Cross features a double set of crosses; each one is designed to look like it's got a very hot fire burning inside of it and the top cross is created to look like it's chiseled into the larger cross!

I know it's still early in the year but you know what? When inspiration hits you, you can't ignore it and for over an entire week I was shot constantly with inspiration for Christmas & Hanukkah creations and you are going to want to stock up on Christmas & Hanukkah items and cards early this year so you're ready for those holidays.
First up is a BRAND NEW Christmas design featuring a beautiful old-fashioned red ornament complete with wonderful holly leaves & gold trim & the time-tested phrase "Happy Holidays" in a cheerful red color and even a santa hat on each letter! You're going to want to get several of these to keep the Christmas cheer going during the holidays and to maybe inspire those grinches that are always around.

Anyone who knows me knows I care a great deal about our planet, the environment & the animals living here and whether some people want to believe it or not global warming is a very real phenomenon and it needs to be taken seriously. I created this next design in hopes of helping people spread the message that the planet is still able to be protected and since we obviously can't rely on the government to make the changes needed we have to be the driving force, so please get this shirt, show your support, get involved & we can still do a great deal of good before permanent damage sets in.

The first NEW DESIGN features a Gothic style bat image in flaming colors; you could think of it as a bat made from fire & it's very HOT (no pun intended)! You can get this awesome design in many styles & vibrant colors for both men & women and also as a wonderful mouse pad to add a fun touch to your desk and even as a cool coffee mug or cap.
The second ALL NEW design features a different sort of Phoenix; usually you see this fantastical bird in flames of red, oranges and yellows. I went a different route this time around and created this beautiful shadowed Phoenix surrounded by blue flames & in the background is a Phoenix egg all ablaze!
